About The 13-Story Treehouse
The 13-Story Treehouse is based on the number one international bestselling multi-award winning book and book series by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton.

Who wouldn't want to live in a Treehouse? Especially a 13-Story Treehouse that has everything; a bowling alley, a secret underground laboratory, self-making beds, a vegetable vaporizer and a marshmallow machine for starters. Andy and Terry live there, make stories together, and have a series of completely nutty adventures. Today's the day they're going to bring those stories to the stage in their first play –except they forgot to write it! They have arrived to take part in what they think is a rehearsal only to find that they are a week late and now have an audience to entertain and a show to put on! And where will they find flying cats, a mermaid, a sea monster, an invasion of monkeys and a giant gorilla?

This is a riotous rollercoaster of a show that uses live action, puppetry, songs, music and animation to spark the imagination, inspiring young people, ages six and up, to discover the joy of reading and theatre. The 13-Story Treehouse is brought to life by a seriously funny cast and magical moments of theatrical wizardry.   The 13-Story Treehouse opened at the Sydney Opera House in October 2013, receiving critical acclaim, and was a sellout success. The show has also tour extensively throughout Australia.

“Andy Griffiths’ 13 Story Treehouse goes to the edge of the ridiculous and beyond to get a laugh.
From start to finish it is a riot of prop gags….demented energy and adroit interplay.” -Sydney Morning Herald

“There are no limits to the heights of creativity….be transported back to the guileless wonder of childhood….
great charm…great fun…cheerful and brisk production… brings manic energy to the action
that has the kids engaged and amused from the outset.
When a child’s imagination is at work, the sky is no limit.” -The Australian

The creative team includes a play by Richard Tulloch, based on the book by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, published by Pan McMillian; Presenter: CDP Theatre Producers, Australia; Director, Julian Louis; Set and Costume Design by Mark Thompson; Lighting/ Av Design by Nicholas Higgins; and Sound Design by Jeremy Silver.

Member support keeps the arts relevant and accessible by funding groundbreaking works and curating world-class exhibits and free festivals, by providing innovative arts education and outreach, by stimulating downtown vibrancy and growth, by attracting diverse businesses, audiences and visitors, and by restoring Cultural District properties, creating a safer and livelier world-class destination.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has overseen one of Pittsburgh’s most historic transformations: turning a seedy red-light district into a magnet destination for arts lovers, residents, visitors, and business owners.  Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is the cultural and economic revitalization of a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District.  The District is one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization.  A major catalytic force in the city, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique model of how public-private partnerships can reinvent a city with authenticity, innovation and creativity.  Using the arts as an economic catalyst, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has holistically created a world-renowned Cultural District that is revitalizing the city, improving the regional economy and enhancing Pittsburgh’s quality of life.  Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts.
