2018–2019 CITIZENS BANK CHILDREN’S THEATER SERIES
JUMPS FROM PAGE TO STAGE, TEACHING IMPORTANT LESSONS
Pittsburgh, PA–The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce the 49th season of the Citizens Bank Children’s Theater Series for 2018 and 2019. This season’s five titles encourage children with engaging and relevant learning opportunities through the arts. In November, the season begins with Aga-Boom, the innovative and messy clowns. The other four titles are based on books that feature stories of adventure, friendship, and self-confidence, all adapted for the stage in special ways that integrate multiple art forms and technology.
“We want our programming to reflect what children are learning and experiencing every day, from STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) subjects in school to valuable lessons about self-respect, self-love, kindness, and friendship,” says Pam Komar, Director of Theater, Music, and Youth Programming at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “Stories adapted from books this season – Your Alien, Flight School the Musical, Rosie Revere, Engineer, and Emily Brown and the Thing – spark curiosity and excitement for these important areas.”
Interviews with creative teams/talent and media tickets for reviewers are available upon request.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has overseen one of Pittsburgh’s most historic transformations: turning a seedy red-light district into a magnet destination for arts-lovers, residents, visitors, and business owners. Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is the cultural and economic revitalization of a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District. The District is one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization. A major catalytic force in the city, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique model of how public-private partnerships can reinvent a city with authenticity, innovation, and creativity. Using the arts as an economic catalyst, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has holistically created a world-renowned Cultural District that is revitalizing the city, improving the regional economy and enhancing Pittsburgh’s quality of life. Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts.
