TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR BLACK VIOLIN: THE IMPOSSIBLE TOUR
Pittsburgh, PA - Tickets are on sale for Black Violin: The Impossible Tour, the high energy performance featuring duo violinists Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus returns to the Byham Theater on September 26, 2019.
Tickets (starting at $25) are available at the Box Office at Theater Square, TrustArts.org, or by phone at 412-456-6666.
Black Violin: The impossible Tour began on May 9, 2019 and will continue throughout the late fall in several cities across the East-Coast and MidWest. Black Violin is composed of classically trained violinist Wil Baptiste and violinist Kev Marcus. The duo, from South Florida, began playing together in their high school orchestra class. After attending separate colleges Kev and Wil reunited and decided to combine their classical training and love for hip-hop music and established a distinguished, genre-bending sound that has often been described as “classical boom”.
Creative collaborations include Kanye West, Wu-Tang Clan, Wyclef Jean, Lil Wayne, and Alicia Keys. In 2016, Black Violin composed music for FOX’s hit TV series Pitch and have made appearances on HBO’s Ballers, The Tonight Show, The Wendy Williams Show, The Ellen Show, and the 2016 Heisman Trophy Presentation on ESPN. Black Violin’s The Impossible Tour spreads the message that anything is possible and there are no limits to what one can achieve, regardless of circumstance. The focus is positivity and encouragement. As Wil Baptiste puts it, “When you come to a Black Violin concert, there are so many people in the audience experiencing something together. To me, that's what our show does, it brings people together. Not only that, you're being inspired, you're being uplifted, you're able to see something you probably have never seen before."

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has overseen one of Pittsburgh’s most historic transformations: turning a seedy red-light district into a magnet destination for arts lovers, residents, visitors, and business owners. Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is the cultural and economic revitalization of a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District. The District is one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization. A major catalytic force in the city, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique model of how public-private partnerships can reinvent a city with authenticity, innovation and creativity. Using the arts as an economic catalyst, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has holistically created a world-renowned Cultural District that is revitalizing the city, improving the regional economy and enhancing Pittsburgh’s quality of life. Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts.
