About: Riverdance began its journey as the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, produced for television by Moya Doherty. This electrifying and innovative seven minute dance piece was then developed into a full-length stage show by Producer Moya Doherty, Composer Bill Whelan and Director John McColgan. The show broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin in early 1995 then transferred to London and a hugely successful tour started in New York in March 1996. Since its inception Riverdance has packed theaters throughout North America, Oceania, Asia, Europe, South Africa and South America.

Formerly known as the Art Cinema, the Harris Theater represents a milestone in the redevelopment of Liberty Avenue. The theater is one of the few that has retained 35mm film projectors that are utilized regularly. The Harris was named through a gift from the Buhl Foundation after John P. Harris, co-founder of the Nickelodeon—the first theater solely dedicated to the showing of motion pictures—and a Pennsylvania State Senator.
